Description: Located in beautiful Stillwater New Jersey, Fairview Lake YMCA is a resident camp, environmental education and conference center. Our 660-acre camp and 110-acre Lake adjoin the Appalachian Trail and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, a 70,000-acre National Park. Your primary responsibilities will be to teach school children about the environment, convey excitement about the outdoors, and work with a wonderful diversity of people in a recreational setting with our Conference groups.
Responsibilities: Teach environmental education to include: forest ecology, wildlife ecology, lake/stream/pond ecology; facilitate team-building activities through challenge courses including a high and low ropes course; instruct outdoor skills such as orienteering and canoeing; lead games, campfires and other evening programs; assist with hosting duties for youth and adult groups, including orientations, meal announcements, and supervision of recreation areas; provide administrative and camp support as needed to ensure efficient running of program and camp.
