posted: Jul 01, 2009 and closes: Jul 01, 2010
Description and Details
Teach and play in the beautiful Berkshires in Western MA!
We operate a year-round outdoor center, serving more than 11,000 youth and adults from around New England and New York. Typical groups include schools, youth groups, adult groups and conferences, corporate groups and other retreat organizations. Programs also include Family Camps and Women's Wellness Weekends.
We are looking for program instructors who are willing to teach in a variety of areas:
We offer Outdoor Ed and Leadership Development programs. Ideal candidates have experience working with children in other outdoor education facilities (although first timers are welcome too!) Low ropes, teambuilding, high ropes and Alpine Tower experience is perferred but not essential.
We are also looking for staff with science and ecology experience who may teach Environmental Ed, lead forest hikes, teach beaver, pond, bog ecology, etc.
We are also looking for lifeguards or staff willing to be trained as such. We teach boating (canoe & kayak) lessons here and those with experience on the water are welcome.
Winter sports are also offered here, so staff able or willing to teach snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating and snow-tubing are being sought during the winter seasons.
Again, while prior experience is a bonus, we recognize that everyone has to start somewhere and are happy to teach folks without these specific skill-sets as long as they exhibit the right attitude.
