Description and Details

team-work (tem'wûrk') - n. A cooperative effort by the members of a group or team to achieve a common goal. Our goal is to provide the most unique environmental education program that North Carolina has to offer. The only way to do this is by having a creative and enthusiastic team of environmental educators. We want you to have the opportunity to be part of our team, while enjoying our 1,438 acres of beautiful land set in the Brushy Mountains. YMCA Camp Harrison at Herring Ridge opened its doors in 2004, and has been growing ever since. Our instructors will be part of this growing organization and can make real contributions to shape the future of our environmental education program. As an Environmental Education/Conference Instructor you will lead ecology classes and facilitate our program areas which include high/low ropes courses, dual water zip-lines, kayaking, canoeing, creeking, survival skills, hiking, and biking. Preference is given to those in pursuit, or with a science, education, or outdoor-related degree, as well as group facilitation skills. We also have great projects for internships in related fields of study. Opportunities are available during spring 2010 from March 8th to May 17th.
