Camp Chingachgook (YMCA), one of the premier tripping centers in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York is located ~4 hours from Boston or NYC and right on the crystal-clear waters of Lake George.
Our Adventure Trip Leaders work with coed groups of approximately 10 teens and a co-leader for trips from 1 to 5 weeks long. Our trips take place throughout New York, New England and neighboring states, and the Southwest. We take huge pride in the variety of activities our unique tripping program offers from hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, and biking to whitewater rafting, kayaking, sailing, canoeing and more. Many of our trips work with outside outfitters in the area to provide first class guiding to compliment the skills of our trips leaders. The focus of Camp Chingachgook trips is on helping teens build character, learn outdoor skills, gain an appreciation for the natural world, and develop teamwork and leadership skills.
Qualifications include proven experience leading others in outdoor activities and exercising sound judgment; a minimum age of 21; lifeguarding, cpr, and wilderness first aid certifications (opportunities to obtain these certifications free of charge during staff training); and desire to work with youth and teens. We are looking for trip leaders with skills in any or all of the following areas: wilderness tripping (backpacking/hiking), paddling (canoeing, kayaking, rafting), climbing (top roping and bouldering).

Salary & Benefits
Pay scale is 2,000-2,700 depending on experience and certifications. Certifications may be obtained for free during staff training.
