University of the Ozarks, located by the Arkansas River at the foot of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains in west-central Arkansas, seeks to fill its post of Director of Outdoor Experiences. The Director of Outdoor Experiences coordinates and helps to develop a broad range of outdoor and environmental offerings at Ozarks. This post’s primary goal is to maximize the benefits of the University’s beautiful setting amidst a variety of outdoor recreational and educational opportunities for our students. Requirements include significant, hands-on experience (minimum of 3-5 years) with teaching/training of outdoor skills, including, but not limited to, camping, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, shooting sports, hiking, etc. Experience in program and budget management is essential. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Formal certifications in one or more outdoor activities are a plus. Salary range $36K to $38K + benefits. The position will remain open until filled with best consideration given to applications received by July 20, 2010.
